Victoria University To Open First International Campus In Gurugram, Delhi NCR

Melbourne-based Victoria University (VU) is set to expand into India by establishing its first international campus in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR). The new campus, coming up in Gurugram, marks a significant milestone in Australia–India educational collaboration.

Announcing the development, the university said, “Victoria University is thrilled to introduce our world-class education, inclusive environment, and strong industry connections to India.”

VU currently offers a distinctive academic experience to nearly 50,000 students across its Melbourne campuses and other global locations. With its India expansion, the university plans to offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes tailored to industry needs.

Foundation Stone Laid in Gurugram

On Thursday, Victoria University laid the foundation stone for the new campus after receiving formal permission from authorities. Once operational, it will become India’s first fully-fledged international campus set up by a foreign university.

The university’s award-winning VU Block Model—designed to deliver personalised, focused learning through smaller, interactive classes—will be at the core of its academic delivery in India.

A “Momentous Step” for VU

Calling the India entry a historic move, VU Vice-Chancellor Professor Adam Shoemaker said:

“This is a momentous step for Victoria University. We are delighted to bring our award-winning VU Block Model to India, a nation with which we share a profound cultural and academic connection. By partnering with local experts, we’ll ensure our graduates are ready to contribute to one of the world’s strongest economies.”

What the VU India Campus Will Offer

Launching in 2026, the VU India campus will initially offer:

  • Industry-focused programmes in business and information technology

  • The award-winning VU Block Model for concentrated learning in small, interactive classes

  • Real-world, practical learning, including work placements and industry projects

  • Supportive campus services designed to help students succeed academically and professionally

With its entry into the Indian education landscape, Victoria University aims to bring global standards of learning closer to students in India while strengthening academic ties between the two countries.
