Shreyovi Mehta, a fifth-grade student from Faridabad, near Delhi, captured a captivating photograph of two peafowl during a morning walk with her parents in the forests of Keoladev National Park in Bharatpur, Rajasthan.The captivating photograph, titled "In the Spotlight," features a pair of peahens silhouetted beneath a canopy of trees. Mehta was named the runner-up in the "10 Years and Under" category of the 60th edition of the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Her photo was selected from nearly 60,000 entries submitted by participants of all ages and experience levels from 117 countries and territories.The peacock, India's national bird, played a central role in her stunning composition."My heart is filled with immense joy and gratitude," Mehta expressed in an Instagram post, thanking her parents, Kahini Ghosh and Shivang Mehta. Her father is also a photographer.She also applauded parents who encourage their daughters to pursue their dreams. Mehta’s next big goal in wildlife photography is to capture India’s national animal, the tiger, and gain recognition on a platform as esteemed as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
