Delhi CM SHRI School Admissions 2026: Registrations Begin Today

Admissions to the 75 CM SHRI Schools run by the Delhi government for the 2026–27 academic year commence today, February 27, 2026, with the Directorate of Education (DoE) opening the online registration window for the CM SHRI Schools Admission Test-2026.
As per a circular issued by the DoE’s CM SHRI Branch, the entrance examination will be conducted to fill vacant seats in Classes 6, 9 and 11. Interested candidates can submit their applications online until March 12, 2026, by 11:59 pm.
Eligibility Criteria
Only Delhi residents who have successfully completed:
Class 5 (for admission to Class 6)
Class 8 (for admission to Class 9)
Class 10 (for admission to Class 11)
during the 2025–26 academic session from a recognised school situated in Delhi are eligible to apply. The eligibility cutoff date is March 12, 2026 — the final date for submitting online applications.
50% Reservation for Government School Students
The DoE has stipulated that a minimum of 50 per cent of the seats will be reserved for students studying in government and government-aided institutions in Delhi. This includes schools under the DoE, MCD, NDMC, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas.
To qualify for inclusion in the merit list, candidates must secure:
At least 25 per cent marks for the General category
A 5 per cent relaxation for SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and Children With Special Needs (CWSN)
Final admissions will be determined based on school-wise and category-wise cutoffs.
School Preference Guidelines
Applicants are required to carefully indicate their school preferences while filling out the application form:
Class 6: Choose two schools
Classes 9 and 11: Choose three schools
The department has clearly stated that no transfer requests will be entertained once a school is allotted.
For Class 9 admissions, candidates must also specify their preferred stream:
Paper I: HE21CS (STEM Courses)
Paper II: HE21CS (Finance), Humanities, and Performing & Visual Arts (PVA)
Students may opt for one or both papers. However, no change of stream or school will be allowed after allotment.
Exam Pattern and Schedule
The CM SHRI admission test will be conducted in OMR-based, objective format:
Class 6: 75 questions | 300 marks | 150 minutes | No negative marking | Bilingual paper
Class 9: 100 questions | 400 marks | 150 minutes | ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer | English medium only
Class 11: 100 questions | 400 marks | 180 minutes | ¼ mark deducted for each wrong answer | English medium only
The examination is tentatively slated for the last week of March 2026 for Classes 6 and 9, while the Class 11 test is expected to be held in May 2026.
