NLSAT 2026: Applications Open for National Law School Admissions Test

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, has opened the application window for the National Law School Admissions Test (NLSAT) 2026. Eligible candidates can now apply through the university’s official website. The last date to submit applications is March 23, 2026.
NLSAT serves as the gateway for admissions to several prestigious programmes, including the 3-year LLB (Hons), NLS BA (Hons), 2-year Master’s programmes in Public Policy, and PhD programmes in law, humanities, social sciences, and public policy. As per the admission notice, only candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria will be considered for admission.
NLSAT 2026: Important Dates
Registration begins: November 15, 2025
Application deadline: March 23, 2026 (11:59 PM)
Exam date: April 26, 2026 (10:00 AM – 12:30 PM)
Final admissions list: End of May 2026
Academic session begins: July 1, 2026
Exam Schedule & Mode
The entrance exam will be held on April 26, 2026, in a single shift from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, across designated centres nationwide. The test will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode.
Paper Pattern
The 150-minute exam consists of two parts:
Part A:Comprehension, current affairs, and critical reasoning (legal and logical)
Part B:Legal aptitude, reasoning skills, and analytical ability
Marking Scheme
+1 for every correct answer
–0.25 for every incorrect or unanswered response
Seats & Admission Process
For the academic year 2026–27, the 3-year LLB (Hons) programme has an intake of 120 seats. Admissions will be based solely on NLSAT scores. Candidates shortlisted for provisional admission must complete document verification and pay the required fees for final confirmation.
