Delhi Nursery, KG, Class 1 Admissions for 2026–27 to Begin on December 4

The Delhi government will begin the admission process for entry-level classes Nursery, KG, and Class 1—in private unaided schools from December 4, 2025. Application forms will be available from the same date, and parents can submit them until December 27, 2025.

Parents are advised to regularly monitor individual school websites for updates regarding admission criteria, point allocation, and availability of forms.

Key Dates for Delhi School Admissions 2026–27

• December 4, 2025: Admission forms released

• December 27, 2025: Last date to submit application forms

• January 9, 2026: Schools to upload details of all applicants

• January 16, 2026: Marks/points allotted to each applicant released

• January 23, 2026: First list of selected candidates released

• January 24–February 3, 2026: Window for parents to raise queries regarding points

• February 9, 2026: Second list released

• March 19, 2026: Admission process concludes

Age Criteria for Admission (2026–27)

A child must be:

• 3 years old for Nursery

• 4 years old for KG

• 5 years old for Class 1as on March 31, 2026.

Schools may offer up to one month of age relaxation at the discretion of the head of school.

The Directorate of Education has also clarified that:

• Children in Nursery (2025–26) will automatically move to KG (2026–27).

• Children in KG (2025–26) will move to Class 1.Therefore, Nursery admissions for 2026–27 apply only to children who have completed 3 years but not completed 4 years by March 31, 2026.

Documents Required for Admission

Parents may need to provide any of the following during the admission process:

• Ration Card/Smart Card in the name of the parents

• Domicile certificate of the child or either parent

• Voter ID (EPIC) of any one parent

• Electricity bill / MTNL telephone bill / Water bill / Passport of either parent or the child

• Aadhaar/UID card of any one parent
