Severe Cold in Northwest India:Â A cold wave is set to grip Haryana, Chandigarh, and parts of West Uttar Pradesh and northern Madhya Pradesh by December 31.
Dense Fog:Â Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh are likely to experience dense to very dense fog late Monday, while similar conditions are expected in Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, and other northeastern states through December 31.

In Delhi, temperatures have plummeted significantly, with Safdarjung recording a maximum of 15°C—5 degrees below the norm—and Palam at 13°C, 7 degrees below average.
Despite the chill, Delhi’s air quality saw improvement, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) registering at 183 in the "moderate" category.
