Former India captain MS Dhoni has set social media abuzz after appearing in a teaser alongside Bollywood actor R Madhavan. The short clip, shared by Madhavan on Instagram, shows the two dressed in tactical gear, bulletproof vests and sunglasses, wielding guns in what appears to be an action-packed project titled The Chase.
“One mission. Two fighters. Buckle up - a wild, explosive chase begins. The Chase - teaser out now. Directed by Vasan Bala. Coming soon,” Madhavan wrote while posting the teaser. However, he did not confirm whether it was a film, web series or commercial, leaving fans guessing.
The teaser instantly sent Dhoni’s admirers into a frenzy. “Dhoni as hero. Thala for a reason,” commented one fan, while another added, “This better be a movie because the trailer is so thrilling.” Some speculated it could also be an advertisement shoot.
It is worth noting that Dhoni holds the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army’s Parachute Regiment, a title conferred on him in 2011.
On the cricket front, Dhoni last featured in May 2025, during Chennai Super Kings’ IPL clash against Gujarat Titans. Though he retired from international cricket in August 2020, the 43-year-old continues to play in the IPL, having been retained by CSK for ₹4 crore last season.
Fondly known as Captain Cool, Dhoni remains the only skipper to have won all three major ICC white-ball trophies — the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He has also led CSK to a record-equalling five IPL titles.
