The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has opened applications for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2026 to recruit 474 candidates across multiple engineering disciplines. Eligibility Criteria
Age: Candidates must be between 21 and 30 years.
Relaxations: 5 years for SC/ST & Ex-servicemen, 3 years for OBC.
Educational Qualification: A degree in engineering from a recognized university.
For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering posts): M.Sc. degree (or equivalent) with specialization in Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics, or Radio Engineering.
Selection Process
The recruitment process will be conducted in three stages:
Preliminary Exam (Objective type) – Serves as a screening test. Negative marking applies.
Mains Exam (Written papers) – Marks obtained here will be the sole basis for merit list preparation.
Personality Test (Interview) – Final stage for shortlisted candidates.
Application Fee
₹200 for General/OBC/EWS male candidates.
Exempted: Female candidates, SC/ST, and PwBD applicants.
