UPSC NDA, NA, CDS 1 Final Merit List Released

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final merit list for the 155th National Defence Academy (NDA), 117th Indian Naval Academy (NA) Course (I), and Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination (I) held in April 2025.Candidates who appeared for the written examination and SSB interview can now check their total marks on the official UPSC website — upsc.gov.in.

Highlights of the Result

• 735 candidates have qualified for the NDA and NA training.

• 365 candidates have been shortlisted under the CDS recruitment, which includes:

  • 227 for the Indian Military Academy (IMA),

  • 103 for the Indian Naval Academy (INA), and

  • 35 for the Air Force Academy (AFA).

Some candidates have appeared in more than one merit list for different courses.It is important to note that the medical examination results are not included in these merit lists, as medical fitness remains a key component of the final selection process.

For NDA and NA Candidates

Qualified candidates must send their original documents, including proof of date of birth and educational qualifications, to the Additional Directorate General of Recruiting, Adjutant General’s Branch, Integrated Headquarters, Ministry of Defence (Army), New Delhi.The merit list alone does not confirm appointment; final selection depends on verification of documents and eligibility claims.

For CDS Candidates

Those shortlisted through the CDS exam must forward their documents to their respective headquarters:

• Army Headquarters

• Naval Headquarters

• Air Headquarters

As with NDA and NA, appointment will be confirmed only after the verification of all required documents and eligibility details.

How to Download the Final Merit List

1. Visit the official UPSC website — upsc.gov.in.

2. On the homepage, click on “Final Results” under the Examinations tab.

3. Select either:

   • “Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2025”, or

   • “National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2025.”

4. The merit list PDF will automatically download to your device.

5. Save it for future reference.

• Indian Military Academy (IMA): 100 vacancies (including 13 reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Army Wing) holders).

• Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, Kerala: 32 vacancies (including 6 reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Naval Wing) holders).

• Air Force Academy (AFA), Hyderabad: 32 vacancies (including 3 reserved for NCC ‘C’ Certificate (Air Wing) holders through NCC Special Entry).
