Colleges across the nation must offer courses in "museum science," according to Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, president of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations. The ICCR is an independent agency of the Union government responsible with fostering the nation's international cultural ties and managing exchange initiatives.
Former Rajya Sabha member Mr. Sahasrabuddhe stated on Sunday that museums have enormous historical significance for every nation and that universities should offer museum science as a specialised discipline. There was a need to give them competent leadership because many young people were studying history in the nation, which was highlighting its rich past.
