PM‑YUVA Mentorship Scheme 3.0 opens for young writers; Rs 50,000 monthly scholarship

The Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with the National Book Trust (NBT) and MyGov, has launched the third edition of its flagship initiative—PM-YUVA Mentorship Scheme (PM-YUVA 3.0). Aimed at training and mentoring budding writers under the age of 30, the scheme invites entries from March 11 to June 10, 2025. Submissions are accepted in English and 22 official Indian languages through an online contest.
Highlights of PM-YUVA 3.0
Scholarship: Fifty selected young authors will receive a monthly stipend of ₹50,000 for six months.
Themes:
Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building – 10 authors
Indian Knowledge System – 20 authors
Makers of Modern India (1950–2025) – 20 authors
Mentorship & Publication: NBT will guide participants through workshops and personalized mentorship, culminating in the publication of their books.
Eligibility: Open to emerging authors under 30 years of age.
Building on Past Success
The first two editions—PM-YUVA 1.0 (2021–22) and PM-YUVA 2.0 (2022–23)—focused on India’s cultural heritage and democratic institutions. Together, they supported over 140 young writers, offering them both mentorship and the opportunity to be published by NBT, along with a ₹50,000 monthly stipend.
